Sixteen models, accompanied by fifteen dogs and one cat, strutted down the “dog walk” in the latest fashion show by acclaimed Master Pet Couturier, Anthony Rubio.
Part of New York Fashion week, it showcased the designer’s Spring/Summer 2026 collection.
Rubio has been designing women’s wear since 1988, before moving into canine couture in 2003.

He said the collection, created for both canines and humans, was inspired by the words ‘resilience’ and ‘opulence.’
“In a world currently marked by turmoil and uncertainty, I wanted to offer an alternate vision, one that revisits fashion’s ability to uplift, to express joy, confidence, and timeless luxury.
“This collection is my response to the times: a celebration of beauty, strength, and the enduring human (and animal!) spirit,” he said.

The palette featured a balance of earth tones and soft, luminous blues and pinks, each shade representing the elements: earth, wind, water, and fire.
“For the canine and yes, that one delightful feline, models, I chose ultra-light brocades infused with metallic filaments.”
Rubio said the human garments echoed this spirit.
“I worked primarily with light, sculptural textiles, and explored corsetry for the first time. I was so pleased with the results that corsets became a signature throughout the collection.

“Paired with long, pale iridescent skirts, the looks shimmered and flowed with a kind of liquid elegance down the runway.”
Meanwhile Rubio’s next show is at Los Angeles Fashion Week in October.
Golden Paws in January 2026 will see the designer recreate the celebrity looks worn on the red carpet at the Golden Globes for dogs.
